Msgr. Forbes Scholarship
The Msgr. Forbes Scholarship originated in 1982 and was named in honor of the late Msgr. Eugene A. Forbes. He believed very strongly that all children and young people should have the opportunity to receive an education.
The Board of Director’s assigns 1% annually of the credit union’s net profits to the scholarship fund. In 2007 over 200 scholarships were awarded totaling $100,000.
The college scholarships are open to applicants who meet the criteria based on financial need, community involvement, education andoccupational goals, grade point average and other requirements. The Scholarship Committee Trustees meet 3 – 4 times after the deadline to review all of the submitted applications and award the scholarship money.

By receiving the Msgr. Forbes Scholarship I was able to purchase most of my books for the fall semester of 2007. Books are expensive but a key tool to success in college. My over all goal in college is to become an orthopedic surgeon. My anticipated debt for over ten years of college is hundreds of thousands of dollars, so every dollar helps.
